SB41 plug-and-play smart sound level meter brochure – Class 1 USB acoustic analyzer with API control, ideal for IoT integration and automated noise monitoring systems

Elevate Your Acoustic Measurements: Introducing the Bedrock® SB41 SB42 SoundBox

At Bedrock, we constantly innovate to provide acousticians, audio specialists, architects, and engineers with cutting-edge tools for precise acoustic testing and certification. We are proud to introduce the Bedrock SB41 (Class 1) and SB42 (Class 2) SoundBox – our advanced USB-controlled acoustic analyzers designed to revolutionize your measurement setups.

The SBxx series redefines flexibility. Unlike traditional handheld devices, the SB41/SB42 operate as a powerful front-end, controlled remotely through our intuitive API or “remote display” application. This innovative design allows you to seamlessly integrate a reliable Class 1 or Class 2 instrument directly into your own computer-controlled measuring setups, such as a PC or Raspberry Pi. It combines the reliability of a proven IEC-61672 compliant measuring system with the flexibility of a PC-controlled solution.

Key Advantages for Your Applications:

  • Compact & Cost-Effective: The SBxx models are designed to be light, compact, and highly cost-effective, making high-precision measurements more accessible.
  • Unattended Monitoring: Ideal for acoustic consultants and engineers requiring reliable, unattended acoustic measurement solutions for long-term noise monitoring, environmental assessments, or embedded applications.
  • Flexible Control: Full control is available via our API, or use the remote display application for manual control from a Windows PC. You can even set the SBxx in USB audio streaming mode, turning it into a high-end USB input device.
  • Internal Storage: A generous 16 GB of internal flash storage allows for data buffering even when temporarily disconnected from USB data.

Precision You Can Trust:

Designed and manufactured in the Netherlands by the inventors of STIPA , the SB41 (Class 1) and SB42 (Class 2) offer a linear range of electronics exceeding 110 dB and a linear measuring range from 30 to 128 dB (SB41) or 30 to 122 dB (SB42) with the included microphone. They are compliant with ANSI S1.4 and IEC-61762-1:2014 for Type 1/Class 1 and Type 2/Class 2 Sound Level Measurements.
